Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Martin Boyer, joined AIT in 2011 and works as a Senior Research Engineer in the field of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence with a focus on image/video and security technologies.

Martin’s research interests include software architecture, video analytics frameworks, scalable video analytics as a service and media intelligence. Martin’s research and developments have been used in various applications, including video processing in EU security research projects such as the EU FP7 FastPass project, the EU H2020 VICTORIA project or the EU HE STARLIGHT project, as well as in Austrian national security research projects such as FLORIDA.

Martin Boyer also coordinated the Austrian KIRAS security research project defalsif-AI ‘Detection of False Information using Artificial Intelligence’, which focussed on audiovisual media forensics, text analysis and the fusion of these technologies using AI. Martin Boyer currently works as a project manager for the EU Digital Europe project ‘German-Austrian Digital Media Observatory’ (GADMO) and coordinates the national security research project ‘National Risk Management for CSDP Missions using OSINT and PNT Monitoring’ (PINPOINT). He is also involved in the EDF project EUCINF, the Horizon Europe projects STARLIGHT and SafeTravellers and coordinates the national security research project ‘defame Fakes’, which deals with the detection of deepfakes and media manipulation of images and videos.
