Tereza Novotná is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Law and Technology, Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, and a researcher at the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.

Her research focuses on the natural language processing of legal texts, training language models on legal data, legal information retrieval, and the automation of legal reasoning. In her research, she also explores the evaluation of these methods and how their results are perceived by legal experts.

At the Faculty of Law, she teaches Legal Informatics and, since autumn 2023, a new course on Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice. She is also lecturing Artificial intelligence to judicial personnel.
